The Bassano Junction - Basso Pedals, Palladio & Pizza

Outdoor Rec is happy to offer a full-day experience designed exclusively for the VMC, giving guests the opportunity to experience Bassano del Grappa through either cycling or food and wine.

What to Expect:

The day is built around two parallel experiences, allowing both cyclists and non-cyclists to enjoy an authentic Italian day tailored to their interests before coming back together to finish the experience as one group. Guests arrive together by MWR bus at Bassano Club House, where they are welcomed by the Epic Italy team before splitting into their pre-assigned groups.

• Group A – The Basso Heritage Experience                                                                                                     Guests are fitted with premium Basso bikes before setting off on a guided ride of approximately 70 km (around three hours) through the quiet roads and rolling hills surrounding Bassano del Grappa. The route includes an exclusive visit to the Basso Museum, an experience not available to the public, where guests will meet the Basso family and discover the story behind one of Italy's most respected bicycle manufacturers.
  Following lunch at the museum, the group rides back to Bassano Club House, where guests have time to shower and change before walking to rejoin the rest of the group for the final part of the day.                    
• Group B – The Two Villas Experience                                                                                                             The second group enjoys a 7 km guided walk through vineyards and along the River Brenta. The experience includes a guided visit and wine tasting at a historic Palladian estate before continuing on foot to a second historic property.  Following a traditional fixed-menu lunch, guests take part in a hands-on pizza-making experience, learning authentic Italian techniques before baking their own pizzas. They will also explore the kitchen garden with an expert, picking seasonal herbs and vegetables to use as fresh toppings.
• Bringing Everyone Together                                                                                                                           During the late afternoon, both groups come back together to pizza and local wine as well as have time to relax, share stories and connect before returning to Vicenza.
