Verona Epiphany Fest & Witch Burning

Head off with Outdoor Rec for this festive bonfire and fireworks in Verona!

#

A significant and spectacular ritual of pagan origin, "Brusar la Vecia" concludes the Christmas holidays in Verona. On the evening of January 6, an enormous Befana puppet, typically about ten meters tall, is burned in Piazza Bra. This tradition symbolizes chasing away evil, welcoming the new year, and warding off bad luck. The burning is often followed by a fireworks display.
