Bardolino Wine Festival

Head to the shores of Lake Garda with Outdoor Rec for this annual wine festival!

#

The most awaited festival of the year and most important event taking place in Bardolino is the traditional “Festa dell’Uva e del Vino”, born in 1929 to celebrate harvest and wine! It is one of the most attended events of the region with its music, colors, food and beverage, local handcraft and shows; it aims to celebrate one of the distinctive products of the region: the Bardolino Wine!

The local associations and wineries arrange tasting itineraries to allow visitors to taste the various Bardolino versions, from Classico and Superiore to Chiaretto.

To fully enjoy the wine, you can visit the food stands and try local food and other recipes on the lake shore. The traditional Bardolino “Festa dell'Uva e del Vino” (Grape and Wine Festival) enjoys a long tradition. The annual grape harvest and the following production of Bardolino wine, one of the most popular wines of the Lake Garda region, represent the right moment to organize the most important celebration of the town. Wine tastings and local food attract enthusiasts and professionals of the wine world, who have the chance to take part in events, conferences and meetings about wine. Furthermore, exhibitions and concerts add extra fun for everybody.

Bardolino wine, in all its typologies, is famous not only in Lake Garda and in Italy, but also all around the world. Indeed, it’s a unique red wine produced from local grape varieties, about 70% of which is exported.
Out of the 16 towns that have been awarded the DOC quality assurance label, only 6 are allowed to call their wines Bardolino Classico DOC and thus represent the deep-rooted tradition of wine production: Bardolino, Garda, Lazise, Affi, Costermano and Cavaion Veronese. Bardolino wine is largely produced from the Corvina Veronese grape variety. It has a light ruby red color that tends to garnet red after maturation. Its fragrance is vinous, but delicate; due to its harmonious, fine and extra dry taste, this wine matches with many different dishes.
