Enjoy swimming all year round at the Ederle Fitness Center Indoor Pool. The entire pool is enclosed in double-pane, insulated glass with retractable roof paneling for the summer months and is additionally equipped with heating and ventilation systems. Patrons can enjoy the following:

  • Lap Swim Lanes*
  • Open Swim Area*
  • One Indoor Pool Deck (equipped with tables and chairs)
  • Two Outdoor Pool Decks (equipped with tables, chairs, umbrellas, and deck chairs)
  • Changing/Shower Room

Youth Rules

Safety is our concern so there are no exceptions to the rules

  • No one under the age of 18 is permitted in the sauna or steam rooms.
  • Children are never permitted to sit in entry while their parent is working out.
  • A parent must accompany all children in the Family Fitness Room and children must remain in the enclosed play area with the door securely closed.
  • Strollers are not permitted in weight area nor in the multi-functional room.
  • Everyone under age 18 must abide by the Area Age Restrictions below at all times.

Age Restricted Areas

Age restricted areas require an adult, age 18 and over be present at all times in the following areas.

Unaccompanied youth ages 16-18 are only permitted in:

  • Basketball court
  • Combatives room
  • Weight rooms
  • Cardio room
  • Multi-functional room
  • Fitness classes

Unaccompanied youth ages 13-15 are only permitted in:

  • Basketball court

Accompanied youth ages 13-15 are only permitted in:

  • Basketball court
  • Combatives room
  • Weight rooms
  • Cardio rooms

Accompanied youth ages 11 and under are only permitted in:
Must be accompanied by an adult and only in these areas:

  • Basketball court

Accompanied children ages 6 weeks - 15 years in the Family Fitness Room

  • You are required to acknowledge rules by signing in each visit.
  • Fire and Safety permits only 10 children in the play area at one time.
  • Available for parents of children ages 6 weeks – 15 years only.
  • Session maximum time in the room is one hour.
  • Parents must remain in the room and always have eye contact and supervise their child.
  • Fitness Center staff are not responsible for accidents or injuries, nor watching your child.
  • Babies ages 6 weeks to 6 months may remain in carrier seat.
  • Adults may bring bottled water to stay hydrated during workout and children may have only non-spill sippy cups or bottles. Food items nor open drinks are not permitted.
  • Sick children are not permitted with symptom of a contagious disease, if they cannot attend day care or school due to illness, have a cold, fever of 101 with in past 24 hours, have diarrhea, are on antibiotics, or have a fussy disposition.
  • Children must remain in the enclosed play area never in the room with the equipment.
  • Parents will accompany any child who needs the restroom, and must use the diaper changing station in the restroom.
  • Parents must clean, sanitize and organize the work out area and the play room prior to leaving. Use the wipes provided to clean the table, chairs and equipment used.
  • If any equipment is malfunctioning, please alert the staff immediately.
  • Any items left in the Family Fitness Room will be removed to the lost and found container.
  • In case of a fire alarm, please gather your children and follow the exit signs outside the building immediately. Gather across the street near the Arena until all clear is given by Fire Department.
  • Families with unruly children will be asked to leave the facility. This includes: crying, fighting, biting, screaming, and throwing tantrums or any disturbance to other patrons.
  • Families who violate these rules can be denied future access to the Family Fitness Room and the Fitness Center.

Personal Trainers

The Ederle Fitness Center offers personal trainers to assist with your fitness goals. All trainers are independently certified. To schedule a personal trainer contact the Fitness Center desk for a current list of available trainers and their phone numbers.

We offer Professional Massage Therapy working to provide a wide range of services at both Caserma Ederle and Caserma Del Din.

    Service may be available upon request or as part of a special event.

Types of Massages:

  • Reflexology
    Is performed in a short duration and is the practice of manipulating reflex areas in the feed and hands. These reflex areas correspond to specific body parts and organs that are worked to relieve pain when the body cannot be massaged.
  • Swedish Massage
    Is a soft modality that manipulates the muscles and soft tissue through the superficial layers, deisnged to promote self-healing by stimulating the circulation within the body and promoting relaxation.
  • Deep Tissue
    Is a type of massage therapy that focuses on the deep layers of muscles. It is used to alleviate deep chronic pain that cannot be reached through the soft modalities and concentrated in areas such as shoulders, neck, back, gluts, legs and arms.
  • Trigger Point Therapy
    Is a highly effective technique used to alleviate chronic pain and dysfunction through deep pressure. The focus of this modality is the relief of trigger points more commonly known as knots causing chronic pain and dysfunction in the body as well as to correct current holding patterns in the body caused by chronic pain and trigger points.
  • Sports Massage
    Is performed in short durations and is a clothed modality targeted to support fitness, help reduce the demand that sports place on the body, increase the ability to perform the sport and enhance/shorten recovery times.
  • Thai Massage

    Combines assisted yoga with acupressure techniques. The therapist will incorporate yogic stretching movements as they knead and press muscles along the body's energy lines with the hands and feet.

  • Acupressure Massage
    Is a clothed modality performed through precise finger placement and pressure over specific points along the body. These points follow specific channels (known as meridians), the same channels used in acupuncture.

Recovery Zone

What The Recovery Zone offers:

  • Recovery Zone Sessions:
    Normatec compression garments, massage guns, massage balls, rollers, etc. available per hour session.
  • Recovery Zone Plus:
    An hour session with an athletic trainer offering cupping, scraping, and Normatec compression garments.

  • Recovery Zone Membership
    Four Recovery Zone Plus sessions and unlimited Recovery Zone sessions for the month.

  • Small Group Sessions:
    Groups of up to 8 people offered a recovery Zone session available at all open times, even during PT!

To get involved in intramural sports, you will want to download the Intramural Sports Program Registration Form. Once downloaded, fill it out and then email it (or print and hand deliver it) and all applicable documents to the Fitness Center.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to use the fitness centers?

All valid DOD ID card holders.

Are visitors permitted use the fitness centers? 

Guests are permitted but their sponsor must remain with them at all times. 

What are the age requirements for using and being in the Fitness Center?

To ensure everyone's safety, various areas have different age restrictions. Information is located in the Youth Rules Tab above.

Are strollers or baby carriages allowed in the fitness area?

Strollers and baby carriers are allowed only in designated children areas as seen in the youth rules.

Are personal trainers or small group trainers available?

Yes, packages are available and the pricing is listed above under Fitness and Massage Information.

Are massages or other personal services available?

Yes, we currently have a massage therapist that works out of our building. They offer 30, 60 and 90 minute options. Come by to find out more about their services and pricing.

When is the Fitness Center the least crowded?

Non-peak times are usually 9 - 11 a.m. and 2 - 4 p.m. daily.

Are rental lockers available? 

Yes, please see the Monthly Locker Rentals tab above. We also provide lockers for daily use at no charge.

How can I reserve a classroom, field or court?

Reservations are made by filling out a reservation form available at the front desk or you can request the form be emailed to you. Please note that fitness facilities cannot be used to teach a private class. Reservations are not accepted during PT hours. If you require special exceptions for PT times, please contact the facility manager. 

Are group fitness classes available?

Various fitness classes are scheduled each month, primarily in the Ederle Fitness Center. The type and schedule of classes are dependent on the availability of space and certified instructors. You will find class schedules on our website calendar (link located at the top of this webpage, in the dark gray bar). Classes are open to adults and youth ages 16 years and over. Tickets must be purchased prior to class at the front desk, and given to the instructor at the start of class. See the Fitness Tab above for pricing information. 

How can I teach a fitness class?

All of our instructors must be currently certified, have a valid CPR certificate, and provide a list of  references. Please contact the fitness coordinator for more information. 

Why aren’t more group fitness classes being offered at the Fitness Center on Del Din? 

The type and schedule of classes are dependent on the availability of space, certified instructors and a customer base to support the class.

Is recreational swimming permitted in Fitness Center pools? Are there certain times for this?

Recreation or open swimming is permitted in all pools, but you may find limited access for open swim during times where other activities are scheduled. Check with the pool or fitness center desk for the current pool activity schedule. Please note that any personal flotation devices must be Coast Guard approved. Visit the Vicenza Pools page for information about specific pools and hours of operation.
