Ski/Snowboard Trip: Cervinia

Breuil-Cervinia is all about high-altitude.

Note: This event has already passed.

With access to Europe’s highest lifts, and proud holder of the best snow record in Italy, Breuil-Cervinia is one of the world’s leading resorts. Located at the head of a long valley leading off the Aosta Valley, this high-altitude ski area links with both Valtournenche, and Zermatt in Switzerland, offering 350km of pistes overall. The abundance of great cruising runs here are particularly good for beginners and intermediates, and you can even ski here in the summer, too. Meanwhile, the village itself has plenty to offer after the slopes have closed for the day, including good restaurants and numerous activities.

Originally a mountaineering spot, high-altitude Breuil-Cervinia has evolved into what is now a welcoming village of contrasting architectural styles, predominantly purpose-built and modern, with easy access to the slopes. One of Italy’s more lively après-ski resorts, the atmosphere is particularly vibrant on the weekends, when Italian day-trippers come to town.

This is Italy’s most snow-sure resort in the lee of what the Italians call Monte Cervino, better known to the rest of the world as the Matterhorn. Its high altitude – 2,050m in the village and 3,480m at the top lift station – means that top to bottom snow is virtually guaranteed throughout a long season that runs from November to the beginning of May. It’s also open for summer glacier skiing and snowboarding, as well as for weekends in October.

The bus plans to leave promptly on time so please arrive early enough beforehand. We are not planning a stop on the way up. The bus has a restroom onboard, but in the event that it's not operational we can make a stop as needed.

Rental equipment must be reserved in advance. You will be able to pick up your rental equipment the morning of the trip from Outdoor Recreation. We will pick up people from Del Din first, then stop at Ederle for everyone to load their equipment onto the bus.

The trip guide will provide guidance on the resort to the best of their knowledge and inform the group about ski and snowboard lesson opportunities. Lessons are dependent on the terrain at the resort and the availability of instructors, and lessons are only available to participants ages 12 years and older. When provided, lessons are taught by certified instructors and free!

A note on weather: In some instances Outdoor Recreation has adjusted locations due to severe weather or closures.
