Hiking Trip: World War One Guided Hike

Head off with Outdoor Recreation as we head to the Asiago Plateau (Altopiano di Asiago), where we'll make our way to the northern arid and petrous slopes of Asiago's "High Zone." This hiking area is filled with natural beauty and many of the scars of World War I. The area is covered in mule tracks, entrenchments, shelters, walls, tunnels, and even a funicular station from a field hospital.

This hike is ideal for anybody who wants to combine a route of historical value without neglecting the many natural landscape and geological beauties this area has to offer.

Difficulty of the Hike: Medium

A note on weather: Outdoor Recreation will review the conditions ahead of time to ensure they are appropriate for the hike. We will not cancel for rain unless it is deemed unsafe for hiking. If it is found that the conditions are not suitable, you will be notified and we will inform you about refund information.

What to Bring:

• Hiking boots
• Water and snacks
• Proper clothing/attire for hiking
• Euro for purchases (stops, rifugio's, etc.)
• Packed lunch (optional)
• Rain coat
• Small day pack or backpack to carry gear
• Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, etc.)
