Newcomers Tour: North Vicenza Loop

Whether you've just arrived in Italy to visit friends and family or you're beginning the next few years here, you won't want to miss this great tour of some local gems! Outdoor Recreation will take you on a loop around northern Vicenza in this no-frills, small-group setting.

Our driver will begin the day with a drive to Cittadella, a fully walled city. You'll get free time to explore on your own before we head off to our next stop: the historic city of Bassano del Grappa. This strategic city in World War II still reflects scars from the conflict and you'll have a chance to walk the streets, cross the historic bridge, and simply take in this gorgeous hub at the foothills of the Dolomites.

We'll then head off to Marostica, a smaller city nearby with two castles, massive walls ascending the hills, and an oversize chessboard piazza where they perform live chess matches every other year. After some time to explore we'll make our return trip with a quick stop by Nove, a very small town but a hub of ceramic earthenware creations that are shipped worldwide.

This trip is optimal for:

• Individuals or families who have just arrived
• Individual or families without a vehicle yet
• Visiting friends
• Visiting in-laws or family members who want to see something for the day

What to Expect On a Newcomers Tour:

• A small group with a minimum of 8 guests in a single van or a maximum of 16 guests split between two vans
• A packet provided with city maps and interesting information
• Knowledgeable driver(s) who will give basic information on the area
• Free time to explore each area on your own for a comfortable amount of time
• A timeline that will allow for guests to be gone in between school/work hours

Departs: Ederle Outdoor Recreation at 9 a.m.*

* Please note: upon request, Ederle Inn pickup can be arranged.

Returns: Ederle Outdoor Recreation at 2:30 p.m.
