Date: Aug 15 2020, 6 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Outdoor Recreation - Caserma Ederle Bldg. 249 Google Map

Join Outdoor Recreation for this adventurous and educational ascent of Monte Novegno in our local Dolomiti. We will hike to visit a World War I site while covering approximately 14 km (8.5 miles) of terrain.

What to Expect:

The drive time from Vicenza is approximately 1.5 hours to reach our parking destination. This is a remote location, so we will plan for a coffee/restroom break beforehand in a nearby town. Once we begin the hike there are no formal restroom facilities on hand but plenty of wooded nature.

The trip is an out-and-back, approximately 7 km of steadily uphill to the summit of Monte Novegno. The tour it takes about 3 to 4 hours. Pack a lunch and your camera to enjoy some stunning panoramic views along the way!

A note on weather:

ODR is able to control a lot of things, but unfortunately we haven't mastered control of the weather...yet. We will monitor conditions and have snowshoes along with us if they are necessary. In the event of inclement weather we will notify you of changes. We will not cancel for rain unless it is making conditions dangerous.

Estimated drive time to Novegno: 1.5 hours
